LYMPHATIC DRAINAGE

Manual lymphatic drainage massage (also known as MLD) is a type of gentle massage which is intended to encourage the natural drainage which carries waste products away from the tissues.

During MLD therapy a specific amount of pressure and rhythmic circular movements to stimulate lymph flow are used. Some basic light strokes include “stationary circles,” “pump,” and “scoop”—no kneading or deep muscle work is involved. This light massage is actually a draining process intended to firm and tone skin and to improve health.

Treatment takes approximately 30 minutes and may be performed with a mini facial and hydrating masque. Our nurse Heather is very experienced using MLD therapy and is happy to meet with you to determine if it is appropriate for you.
